Pedestrian Safety and Travel Behavior
Due to urbanization, increased automobile growth, and lack of attention by drivers as well as pedestrians to the traffic regulations, traffic collisions affecting pedestrians, which have now become a serious safety issue in many developed nations such as India. The established road design does not have sufficient pedestrian facilities and thus there is a constant dispute between automobiles and pedestrians over sharing the limited space on a road. This often contributes to a dangerous situation and overcrowded traffic conditions for the slow speed vehicles and pedestrians. Although adequate control systems including signals are given at unregulated crossings, but still most of the pedestrians do not use the signals and tend to avoid pedestrian crossing areas that adversely impact the characteristics of the flow of traffic and the movement of road users. The objective of this research is to bring out the factors related to pedestrian accidents, characteristics of pedestrian behaviors, their crossing patterns, and also focusing on pedestrian safety with the use of infrastructure and vehicle technologies.

Assessment of water reuse potential of wastewater treatment systems used in Mumbai, India
Ever growing population of Mumbai has put additional pressure on existing infrastructure in terms of huge demand for portable water as well as treatment of city’s waste water. Study aimed at review of city’s wastewater in order to understand the reality of treatment quality of wastewater, it’s reusability in terms of offsetting growing water demands of domestic, industrial and agricultural fields in and around the city. Literature review and case study method was used in order to get primary as well as secondary data for achieving data regarding overall functioning and water balance of the city. Because of lot of irregularities, current wastewater management systems are asking for paradigm shift from current centralized wastewater treatment systems to decentralized wastewater treatment systems. Conventional treatment systems treat wastewater as a ‘waste’ yet there is some reuse potential. Concept of collecting water and wastewater separately for better treatment, increased reuse potential, savings upon energy and better nutrient recovery can be used in order to move towards more ecologically and economically sound waste water management systems. To demonstrate this idea documentary and discourse analysis is used. The paper starts by providing general overview about water scarcity and security in India and then proceeds to provide comparative analysis between centralized and decentralized treatment systems used in the city in order to identify it’s water reuse potential. Second, legislative and policy framework used in the city for wastewater treatment and management which is then followed by outline of the current situation and reflections on system dynamics in City. Third, the paper ends with a discussion on practical implications, policy options and conclusion. The presented study gives conceptual model based on Net Zero concept which can be helpful in making of sustainable future cities.

Gyroscopic hybrid bicycle
Described in this paper is a Self-Stabilizing Hybrid Bicycle. Gyroscope technology is implemented to develop the balancing forces to achieve stability on all terrains. The main principle revolves around generating the counteracting torque to help stabilize the tilting action of the vehicle. Along with this, we have introduced a hybrid system to prime the cycle when the rider is tired. The hybrid system includes a battery which can be charged by three different ways: Solar power, mechanical power from a dynamo from the pedal and an Ac supply charge. To charge the electric motor driving the bicycle, the energy from all these three paths is used. The hybrid-powered bicycle is built so that the rider can drive the bicycle in two ways, i.e. he can choose to use the electric motor entirely or he can ride it by himself manually which in turn charges the battery.

Identification of CT Lung Tumor Using Fuzzy Clustering Algorithm
The main principle for the system-based study of lung cancers in CT images is cancer cell recognition and segmentation. Anyhow, in low-contrast pictures, it is a complex job as the low-level images are too small to detect. We are proposing a new technique in this project for the automated detection of lung cancers. Alternatively, by probability density function estimation, we enhance the intensity contrast of CT images. We use the expectation maximization / maximization of the posterior marginal to find cancerous areas. Finally, to decrease noise and classify focal cancers, we use shape limitation. The resolution of more than 95 percent of this fuzzy-based segmentation method is achieved and 9 percent accuracy is also given.

Array Multiplier and CIA based FIR Filter for DSP applications
In Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform, Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter is one of the important applications in the context of Digital Signal Processing (DSP). The traditional FIR is designed using a number of the adders, multipliers which enlarge the area of the filter architecture. Generally, the multiplier and adder are required to design the FIR filter. In this research, Array Multiplier (AM) is used in the Processing Element (PE) for multiply the filter inputs with coefficients. This research employs the Carry Increment Adder (CIA) in the accumulator for the adding output of the PE. The proposed method is named as AM -CIA-FIR filter. Due to the usage of AM and CIA adder, the hardware utilization of the proposed work is improved. The AM -CIA-FIR filter is implemented in Xilinx ISE software by using Verilog code on different Virtex devices in terms of Virtex-4, Virtex-5, and Virtex-6. This experiment results showed that AM -CIA-FIR filter has reduced 14.01 % of the FPGA utilization compared to the PSA-FIR filter design.

Predicting Severity of Diabetic Retinopathy using Deep Learning Models
This paper presents deep learning models for the classification of Diabetic Retinopathy (DR) grades. The goal of this research is to find and create a deep learning model that will help us identify the image with high accuracy into one of the five phases of the DR as no DR, mild, moderate, severe, and proliferative DR.The whole work is developed using four steps. The first, using Ben Graham's pre-possessing form, the fundus images were pre-processed. Secondly, in order to train the models, the preprocessed images are contributed to the deep learning algorithm. The third, deep learning models such as Deep CNN, Dense Net, and Group 19 Visual Geometry (VGG19) are developed to predict the severity of the DR. The APTOS Blindness Detection dataset is used to train the proposed deep learning models. Since the data set is imbalanced in nature, the issue of training bias contributes to it. Therefore, at the time of training the models, class weight technique is used to eliminate the training bias problem. In the case of DR grading structures, the proposed deep learning models work well. The Dense Net has been found to work better than the other two models.

Cloud Technology and Return on Investment (ROI)
Many organizations across the globe have adopted cloud technology or they are in process of migrating their existing IT setup to cloud platform. Are they really reaping the benefits of cloud technology? The cloud service providers play a vital role by providing technology inside and right direction to their clients. Companies will not opt for cloud technology unless they see the real benefits to their business. They will invest into the proposal, which will provide them higher returns. Adopting cloud technology certainly provides multiple levers for improving the returns on investment (ROI). One should choose a right cloud solution by following best practices and adopting the right cloud strategy for their own business solution. ROI is most widely used for financial success in trades. ROI is the equivalent increase in the value on your investment over a period of time. The basic ways to improve ROI are to reduce the investment, increase revenue, decrease operational costs, and start the early returns.Cloud computing should not be seen as a technical infrastructure advancement then we will be missing the wider picture of the impact of technology over the business outcomes. The value proposition matters most, and it does not always represent the financial performance. It can be customer value, corporate value or market brand value. Those aspects should not be ignored. This paper covers the drivers, which contributes to ROI and shows how to use these levers to get maximum benefits.

Computing Wearable’s Enabling Taking Body Measurements Physical to Digital
If a device tells you whatever garment you are wearing is not the best fit for your body, would you change? If yes, then Computing wearable’s are fosters for providing personal information to the wearer about their body measurements. In medical sciences computing wearables not only track your day to day health-related data but also help in effective implementation of prevention and treatment techniques. Online apparel shopping is an easy method, which consumes less time and you can find everything you need. Apparel fitment becomes a key between acceptance and disappointment. In India there are no standard size charts available so apparel manufacturers are using size charts as per their own understanding and research. This may irritate the customers while trying to identify appropriate size, and may result into rejections, return of apparel. According to recent studies, between 20-40% of all online apparel purchased 70 % is returned, only due to issues with fit alone, which costing fashion e-tailors millions. Here the Body measurements data generated through computing wearable’s can be an innovative and interactive method for selection of right garment which may put conventional taking body measurements method out of the market.
