EEG based Emotion Recognition and Classification: a Review

Emotion plays a vital role in medical research and interpersonal communication. Essentially feeling can be communicated verbally like discourse or non-verbally like outward appearance and physiological signals. A human emotion is complex physiological state which involves a physiological response, a person’s experience and behavioral change. EEG measures electric current that are generated due to neuronal activities in the human brain. This paper provides an overview of comparative study of various techniques of emotion recognition from EEG signals. Our analysis is based on extracted features and classification methods of emotion recognition. We intended that, this study will be useful for newly researchers those entering in the field of emotion recognition.

Channels Based Platform for Text and Video Conferencing

Communication has become the essential part of our lives over various technologies. As the large the number of users gets connected to internet everyday it becomes one of the problem to provide better communication services to every users. Text messaging has become common and many users are getting attracted towards video meetings. Application has problem in connecting large number of users in a video meeting for the purpose of communication. In this project report a new approach to make communication easier has been proposed. Users can quickly register themselves and then can access the applications which provide users the channels functionality. A user can either create their channel or else join other channels. Inside channels they can communicate using text messaging and also video conferencing with large number of users present in a channel. Users can share their screen and text each other while attending video meeting. Application can also generate attendance report of users in channels who attended video meeting

Classification of Brain Magnetic Resonance Images using ICA-MLP

The central nervous system controls all the functions of the body. The brain is the vital organ of our body and it can be suffered from various diseases. In order to treat various brain diseases, the physicians use Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) technique in recent days for the treatment. Manual analysis and classification of brain images into normal or deceased is a tedious task. So different supervised learning techniques are used in this purpose. In this paper, Independent Component Analysis (ICA) has been used for feature reduction and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) has been used for classification task. The experimental study is conducted on two of the brain image datasets i.e. Glioma and Alzheimer and the results suggested that ICA-MLP produced better results than MLP.

In the real data world, there are various clustering algorithms available in data mining. The data available from the different data sources may be huge in instances, attributes and in different formats. The clustering algorithms available are assessed based on how the algorithm cluster the given data and find its parametric values.  The clustering of data may end in inappropriate results if the algorithm is not chosen wisely. This paper proposes a comparison between diverse clustering algorithms such as K Means clustering, Mini-Batch K Means clustering, Hierarchical clustering, Bagging and Boosting by figuring out clustering strategies using high dimensional datasets on each algorithm above. After the process of data cleaning in dataset, we have clustered the datasets and compared the summary of each to showcase the comparability of difference in their strategical values such as Clustering tendency, clustering quality and data driven approach for evaluating the number of clusters, Normalized Mutual Information (NMI) metric and provide an idea to choose the algorithm for clustering the data effectively. And as a result, Local Clustering Coefficient (LCC) with K-means clustering bunching method performs better than the other clustering algorithms and the results are reported.

Causal Discovery using Dimensionality Reduction Partial Association Tree

Decision tree is a model to classify data based on labelled attribute values. This model is a supervised learning approach through which one can classify a new entry into an appropriate class. If we want to know the cause behind this classification then decision tree cannot provide the same. When we infer causes behind the classification then they will provide a rich knowledge for better decision making. Causal Bayesian Networks, Structural Equation Models, Potential Outcome Models are the some of the models that are used to get causal relationships. These models need experimental data. But it is not possible/ it is very expensive to conduct full experiments. So a model is needed to identify causes from effects from observational data rather than experimental data. In this paper a novel approach is proposed for causal inference rule mining which can infer the causes from observational data in a faster way and also scalable. Statistical tools and techniques named partial association test, correlation are used to develop the model. A new way of constructing a tree called Dimensionality Reduction Partial Association Tree (DRPAT) is introduced. Sometimes the existing causality cannot be extracted where low associated dimensions are involved in data and hiding the underlying causality and this model extracts causal association in case of hidden causality in data.. The model is applied on “Cardiovascular Disease dataset” sourced from Kaggle Progression System. The result is a Partial Association Tree. From this tree one can get a set of causal rules which can form a basis for better data analytics and then the better decision making.

EduAR– an AR based Learning Application

Being one of the hot technologies of the era Augmented reality is exponentially developing various day to day activities and learning application is one of them. EduAR is an android application that overlays the virtual objects in a physical environment. EduAR as the title suggests it will be related to education and Augmented reality. Our project will be basically for preschool and kindergarten kids. In this application we are going to provide two main features, User will put camera on the particular word for alphabet and there will be a 3D visual of the particular word in the form of image it will be a static image but will be presented are displayed in a magical way as simplifying and visualizing something new leads to easier understanding. Another feature is that the user will put a camera on the particular object or image and then it will display on screen what object is it children can have fun using this application to explore new things. This application will mainly focus on the development of young children to help them prepare for preschool and beyond.

Medicinal Plant Identification Using Deep Learning

In this paper, our main aim is to create a Medicinal plant identification system using Deep Learning concept. This system will classify the medicinal plant species with high accuracy. Identification and classification of medicinal plants are essential for better treatment. In this system we are going to use five different Indian medicinal plant species namely Pungai, Jamun (Naval), Jatropha curcas, kuppaimeni and Basil. We utilize dataset contains 58,280 images, includes approximately 10,000 images for each species. We use leaf texture, shape, and color, physiological or morphological as the features set of the data. The data are collected by us. We use CNN architecture to train our data and develop the system with high accuracy. Several model architectures were trained, with the best performance reaching a 96.67% success rate in identifying the corresponding medicinal plant. The significantly high success rate makes the model a very useful advisory or early warning tool.

Influence of nano silica particles on quasistatic mechanical and low velocity impact properties of Carbon-glass-Sunn hemp/epoxy in intra-inter ply hybrid composites

Increasing fuel prices and emission norms have favoured the automobile manufactures the use of lightweight materials. Land fill regulations imposed by many environmental governing agencies encourage the use of products which will decompose easily or which will require lesser energy for recycling. In this scenario, an effort has been made to build natural fibre hybrid composites combining natural and synthetic fibres to solve the problems of environmental impact and energy wasted on recycling in this study. In this work the flexural, compression, interlaminar shear stress and low velocity impact properties of composites reinforced with plies containing carbon fibres in the weft direction and E-glass fibres in the warp direction, parallel oriented sunn hemp mats and 40 µ SiO2 particles are investigated for possible application in automobiles. It is observed that the reinforcement of the composite with 40 µ SiO2 particles enhances the flexural, compression, interlaminar shear strength and low velocity impact properties of the composite.

Virtual Discussion for Improving Motivation: A Christian Education Strategy against Covid-19 Pandemic Effect

There was a big question about the transition to online learning on around the world, could it motivate student as good as the traditional methods? This study is aimed at finding out the effectiveness of virtual discussion for improving motivation of students during the Covid-19 pandemic. A total of sixty Christian students of State Vocational High School Malang were involved in the study, separated in two classes. The first class was treated with virtual discussion method and the other class as a control class. This study used a quasi-experimental research design, and analyzed using a paired sample t-test. The result obtained sig. 0.000 less than 0.05, showed a significant difference in the mean scores, indicated that virtual discussion was effective for improving motivation of students. From the finding, it is recommended to use virtual discussion in Christian education, against Covid-19 pandemic effect.

In this paper we have proposed a room sanitation robot. The world around us is facing new threats day by day, latest being the corona virus. Social distancing, wearing masks, sanitizing the hands and disinfecting rooms are some precautionary measures to be taken against this deadly virus. Hence our project aims at disinfecting the rooms by deploying robots instead of manpower. Steriloid is a sanitizing robot which can be used to sanitize rooms, pathways, roads etc. It can be controlled in two modes manually or automatically. In the Automatic mode, the robot moves around the room with the help of two ultrasonic sensors. The sensors detect the obstacle while the robot is in motion and control the robot accordingly. In the Manual mode, complete control of the robot is in the user's hands. A mobile application is used to control the robot via a Bluetooth module. So the robot can move to any location. Sanitizer or sanitizing liquid is filled inside a reservoir and a pump is placed inside it. When the robot starts moving, the pump can be turned on from the mobile or manually and it starts sanitizing the room.

This paper presents the design, analysis and comparison of different types of dc-dc converters. Now days due to lack of conventional energy sources like coal, petrol, diesel etc., demand of electricity is rising day to day. To fulfill this demand of electrical energy alternative methods are very much important now. The researchers stand motivating in solar energy generation, dc-dc converters etc. In this paper Performance analysis of different dc/dc converters and comparative study of them is focused. All converters will work in Continuous conduction mode. The performance analysis of different converters (Buck, Boost, Buck Boost, CUK, SEPIC, Positive Output Super-Lift Luo Converter) and comparison of those converter’s simulation results discussed using MULTISIM 14.0.

Infrastructure as code (IaC) is the devops process to automate every single need of the infrastructure to enable better deployment speed, secured, high scalability, automated backup and restores. IaC is about writing code that describes the infrastructure where resources can easily be created, destroyed, resized, replaced and moved. It is the process of scripting environments - from installing an operating system, to installing and configuring servers on instance, to configuring how the instances software communicate with one another, and much more. This paper discusses various tools and technology sets that can be used to attain an efficient infrastructure across all the industries ensuring the security using public and private clouds. Questions like how easily we can adapt, how to ensure security, how to choose the correct tools and technology set, deployment methods, benefits and implementations of the IaC, would be answered in this paper. This Paper presents the fabrication and concept of four way hacksaw blade machine mainly carried out for production-based industries. Industries are basically meant for production of useful goods and services at low production cost, machinery cost and low inventory cost. Today in this world every task has been made quicker and fast due to technology advancement but this advancement also demands huge investment and expenditure, every industry desire to make high productivity rate maintaining the quality and standard of the product at low average cost. We have developed a prototype model of a Hacksaw machine. This project consists of a crank and slider mechanism along with linear bushing. These machines can be used in remote places where electricity is regular. It is designed as a portable one which can be used for cutting in various places. It can be used for operating on materials like thin metals, wood. We include Design Thinking process from SNS college of technology to do this experiment. The stages of Design Thinkers are Empathize, Define, Ideate, Prototype & test, Evolve.

The world's population is growing rapidly. Food production must be increased in order to meet their dietary needs, but this must come at a cost that is affordable to everyone. Agriculture was the main source of food for the population. All agricultural equipment is rarely modernized due to its low productivity. In India, farming is done by traditional means, in addition to the large-scale development of the industrial and service sectors compared to the agricultural sector. There will be a lot of field work in the agriculture sector, such as weeding, weeding, sowing, spraying, etc. Apart from this spraying operation, the farmers play a vital role in the agricultural process of protecting the crop. Traditionally, the spraying of pesticides and insecticides is carried out by farm workers carrying backpack sprayers that require more human effort. Attention is paid to these important problems and an attempt is made to develop equipment that will be of benefit to the farmer in spraying operations. As we know, there were different types of agricultural sprayers like backpa. Because there is a lot of solar energy available in nature. So we will use solar energy in agricultural sprayers with the help of solar panels. Farmers face the problem of large area coverage in a short period of time. In this project work, we will manufacture a multiple power supply of fertilizer sprayer. And this manufactured equipment will cover the maximum area during spraying.

Education is continuing its journey since man is on earth. It may be the nature taught man in the yester years, gurukulas in the golden period of many kings, Government Schools and colleges’ post-independence era and convents, international schools, deemed universities in the 21st century, its common objective of all these institutions is to educate the human race. Education is not just reading the books and getting a degree from a University, it is the holistic development of an individual physically, mentally, financially and economically. The aim of education is to bring overall development of an individual and make him today a productive citizen, for tomorrow’s nation. Every country develops its education system to express and promote its unique socio-cultural identity and to meet the growing demand of job and career opportunities. The country has reached a stage in economic and technological progress and efforts must be made to ensure that the fruits of change reach all the sections of the society. The National Education Policy- 1986 focused on common curriculum framework that contains a common core along with other components that are flexible. Child-centric approach is given prominence in elementary education, followed by secondary education giving prominence to girl child education and SC, ST and BC categories of education. The National Education Policy-2020, which is reformed after 34 years, emphasized more on holistic approach with multi-disciplinary courses and students are facilitated with bucket system of choosing subjects of their interest. This paper focuses on the comparative study on the highlighted aspects of NEP of both 1986 and 2020.

The world has witnessed a standstill moment because of outbreak of coronavirus not sparing anyone across ethnicity, be it rich or poor, black or white, east or west, north or south. The pandemic has affected various sectors, education being one of it. According to UNESCO, close to 900 million learners have been affected by the closure of educational institutions. (11) Due to this pandemic, the educational institutions have to move from conventional mode of parting education to online mode. The research paper highlights advantages and disadvantages of imparting education through online mode during the pandemic situation.
